The Current

The Current is published by Donaldson Run Civic Association (DRCA) volunteers and is distributed free of charge to all households in the DRCA area. The membership of DRCA supports a newsletter as the best way to keep our neighbors informed of the many local and regional issues that concern us. Membership dues and contributions cover the cost of printing and mailing. Further information about the DRCA voting requirements, and a membership application form will appear in the next issue of The Current.

Neighborhood Conservation Plan

To ensure the highest levels of participation in our Neighborhood Conservation (NC) survey process by homeowners and tenants, the Board of Directors has extended the deadline for completing the survey to October 15^th. If you have not received a copy of the survey, please contact Ned Rhodes by calling him at 703-812-5072 or by e-mailing him at rhodesn@softsysgrp.com. Volunteers are still needed to walk their blocks to remind neighbors to complete the surveys. This will help to ensure that your neighbors’ concerns are heard.

Candidates Night

On Wednesday, October 13^th, the DRCA will host candidates night. This meeting will begin promptly at 7PM, ½ hour earlier than regular meetings. All candidates whose names will appear on the ballot on November 2^nd for the offices of County Board, School Board, Virginia General Assembly (48^th district) and the State Senate (31^st district) have been invited to attend. In keeping with its tradition as a non-partisan organization, the DRCA will not be endorsing any candidate. Please come and ask your questions of the candidates. DRCA welcomes friends from neighboring civic associations to take part in DRCA Candidates Night
